Already Home Recordings Volume 2, Samuel James’ newest work, challenges traditional notions of authenticity in American roots music. The name of the project refers to James’ own biracial family, filled with musicians of multiple American traditions. With the instrumentation arranged for himself – both live and recorded – James showcases the unique sonic influences of his own musical upbringing. This multimedia concert experience features influential American folk songs presented in differing arrangements, both at once familiar and new. James will reach deep into the well of American folk music, blending everything from Appalachian banjo to East Texas piano with every kind of guitar picking in between. This world premiere performance will be unlike any other Samuel James concert as he performs live against a backdrop of multiple projections giving the feel of a full band. Get ready for old traditions to come alive as you’ve never seen before!
