Based on the beloved 1988 rom-com of the same name, Mystic Pizza serves up romance, heartbreak, friendship, and big dreams with a soundtrack packed full of iconic 80s and 90s hits. Set in a small-town pizza shop, the story follows three young women as they navigate the messy realities of love, family, ambition, and finding their place in the world. Adapted by Sandy Rustin and directed by Casey Hushion, this new musical captures all the charm and humor of the cult classic film while delivering a high-energy score featuring favorites made famous by Cyndi Lauper, John Cougar Mellencamp, Melissa Etheridge, Belinda Carlisle, Bryan Adams, Rick Astley, and more. Packed with heart, nostalgia, and irresistible music, Mystic Pizza is a feel-good night out you’ll fall in love with slice by slice.
Mystic Pizza premiered at Ogunquit Playhouse in September of 2021 and received productions at La Mirada Theatre in January of 2024, Riverside Theatre in January of 2025, and Paper Mill Playhouse in February of 2025.
