Inspired by the New York Philharmonic String Quartet’s contemplative programming, Suzanne will highlight Joel Thompson’s “In Response to Madness” and touch on art and music of the past and present.

About the Speaker

Proclaimed the “Queen of Classical” by Maine’s Portland Press Herald for her work in 2011 as the Director of Cultural Content at Maine Public, Suzanne is recognized for creating the popular radio series “Music that Moves ME” and the Emmy® Award winning TV program MaineArts! 

She has served as the voice of the internationally syndicated Lyric Opera of Chicago radio series; and the Grant Park Music Festival, Milwaukee Symphony, Salt Bay Chamberfest, and Bravo! Vail Music Festival radio series.

Nance now serves as the President and CEO of one of the nation’s premier classical music radio services: All Classical Portland and the International Children’s Arts Network, (Portland, Oregon | allclassical.org). Suzanne was named a “2022 Woman of Influence” by Portland Business Journal (Oregon) and hailed as one of Portland’s “best radio personalities” for her work as the host of the station’s popular radio program Sunday Brunch.

Suzanne is a frequent guest lecturer and writer about music, and an active arts ambassador. She speaks nationally about the power of music, the benefits of arts education for all, promoting emotional literacy, and the importance of supporting cultural economy. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Syracuse University and a Masters from DePaul University.
