Join internationally recognized storyteller and poet Andri Snaer Magnason for an exploration of language and communication in this age of climate change. As a planet, we are faced with an imbalance or realignment of all elements of water—glaciers, sea level, permafrost, the pH of the world’s oceans, currents, rain and snow, the absence of water in droughts. Magnason will explore what it means to be a writer seeking to express the true scale and scope of climate change, weaving a narrative through family stories, myth, and science to navigate and understand our shared global challenge.
Sponsored by the Schiller Coastal Studies Center and the Departments of Biology, Earth and Oceanographic Science, English, the Environmental Studies Program, German, Theater and Dance, and Visual Arts; Bowdoin Outing Club.
