"Omar Offendum's storytelling, rapping, and singing weave together past and present in a closely observed whole."

Syrian-American hip-hop artist and poet Omar Offendum and Palestinian-American multi-instrumentalist, maestro Ronnie Malley, weave stories of the past, present, and future. These versatile artists offer a unique perspective on Arab-American artistic expression as they trace the influence of Al-Andalus and Arabic-speaking peoples on music and culture from New York City’s “Little Syria” neighborhood to the birth of California Surf Rock. A Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellow, gifted educator, and humanitarian, Offendum has been featured around the globe on prominent world news outlets, at academic institutions, museums and stages. Malley’s work as an actor, composer, sound designer, producer, playwright, and educator appears regularly in film, on Broadway, and in music and theater festivals.

Part of the Seeking Resonance Series.
