Accessibility – Riverton Community Center

Portland Ovations welcomes people of all abilities to our performances and programs, both digital and in person. Ovations presents in multiple platforms and in multiple venues in the Greater Portland area, and it is a priority for us that all our events be ADA-compliant. We  all deserve access, and all have different access needs.

Accessibility at the Riverton Community Center

Parking and Transit
The Riverton Community Center is in the rear of the building that also houses Gerald E. Talbot Community School and the Riverton Public Library. There is a large, dedicated parking lot in front of the entrance to the Community Center. There are ample spots for bicycle parking as well.

The Community Center is accessible by the 2 Metro bus line, with a stop at the corner of Forest Ave and Newton St. Visit www.gpmetro.org for schedule and route information.

Building Entry
Doors are located to the left of the parking lot. There is a paved, ramped path, as well as stairs, leading up to the door.

There is no coat check available at this venue, so we encourage you to leave any large bags or backpacks at home or in your vehicle.

Ticketing & Box Office
PortTIX mobile box office can be accessed in the Riverton Community Center lobby, located just inside the main entry doors. The box offers ticket sales and will-call pickup one hour prior to the start of the performance. Regular PortTIX hours are Monday through Friday from 11AM – 3PM located at 400 Congress Street in Portland.

Mobile tickets are also issued and can be accessed through your email. The QR code typically cannot be printed, so you MUST bring a mobile phone to the event on which to display the email with the Mobile Tickets for entry. Mobile tickets are sent to your email the day of purchase. To locate them in your inbox search ‘Your Mobile Tickets’, it will come from boxoffice@porttix.com.

Restrooms
There are gendered bathrooms in the hall behind the gymnasium, with one Accessible stall in each.

Ramps & Elevators
The lobby, restrooms, and entry into the gymnasium is on one floor of the building.

Assisted Listening
Assistive Listening Devices are not available at this venue. Ear plugs are available from members of our usher team.

Sign Language Interpretation
ASL interpretation for the performances of Dig Up! A Dinosaur Expedition are available upon request. Please contact Portland Ovations’ Accessibility Coordinator, Katelyn Manfre at kmanfre@portlandovations.org for more information or fill out our Access Request Form to request these services.

Seating Details
This performance takes place inside an inflatable dome. The dome is wheelchair accessible, and chairs can be placed inside for anyone who needs it. All other seats inside the dome are cushions placed on the floor.

Patrons should contact the PortTIX box office in advance of the performance to ensure any needs are met. This can be done by calling 207.842.0800 or emailing boxoffice@porttix.com.

Service Animals
Service animals are always welcome, and this venue offers easy access to the outdoors. We ask that animals be kept on a leash or harness at all times.

Concessions
Concessions will not be served at this performance. Patrons are invited to enjoy snacks in the lobby or on the grounds of the community center, including at the playground. Vending machines and water fountains/refill stations are available in the lobby.
