Accessibility – AURA

Portland Ovations welcomes people of all abilities to our performances and programs, both digital and in person. Ovations presents in multiple platforms and in multiple venues in the Greater Portland area, and it is a priority for us that all our events be ADA-compliant. We  all deserve access, and all have different access needs.

Accessibility at AURA, Portland

Parking

There is no designated parking for AURA, but there is ample street parking in the neighborhood. Parking meters are in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Sundays and city holidays are free. There is one dedicated accessible street parking space at the corner of Congress and Center Streets.

Paid parking is available at the One City Center Garage (23 Free St), which is directly next door to the venue.

Building Entry

Doors are located at 121 Center Street. The main entrance has steps to the lobby level, and the AURA Sports Grill door is fully accessible. Another accessible entrance is located at the corner of the building at Free and Center Streets.

All patrons must pass through a metal detector and have bags checked upon entry. While handbags and purses will be permitted, large bags and backpacks are discouraged, and we ask that you leave such items at home or in your vehicle. There is no coat check available on site.

Ticketing & Box Office

PortTIX mobile box office can be accessed in the AURA lobby, located just inside the main entry doors. The box offers ticket sales and will-call pickup one hour prior to the start of each performance. Regular PortTIX hours are Monday through Friday from 11AM – 3PM located at 400 Congress Street in Portland.

Mobile tickets are also issued and can be accessed through your email. The QR code typically cannot be printed, so you MUST bring a mobile phone to the event on which to display the email with the Mobile Tickets for entry. Mobile tickets are sent to your email the day of purchase. To locate them in your inbox search ‘Your Mobile Tickets’, it will come from boxoffice@porttix.com.

Restrooms

Gendered restrooms with stalls are located off the main lobby and on the balcony level. Each has at least one accessible stall.

Ramps & Elevators

The lobby and entry into the theater is on one floor of the building. There is an accessible elevator that runs to all seating levels, and to the street entrance on the corner of Free and Center Streets.

Assisted Listening

Assistive Listening Devices are not available at this venue. Ear plugs are available for purchase at the bars or merchandise booth.

Sign Language Interpretation

ASL interpretation has not been scheduled for Nathalie Joachim’s performance. Please contact Portland Ovations’ Accessibility Coordinator, Katelyn Manfre at kmanfre@portlandovations.org to request these services.

Seating Details

Seating at this venue is General Admission and consists of cushioned, theater-style seating on both the main and balcony levels. Wheelchairs can be accommodated on all levels of seating.

Patrons should contact the PortTIX box office in advance of the performance to ensure any needs are met. This can be done by calling 207.842.0800 or emailing boxoffice@porttix.com.

Service Animals

Service animals are always welcome, and this venue offers easy access to the outdoors. We ask that animals be kept on a leash or harness at all times.

Concessions

AURA has a full bar on each level of seating, with water and soft drinks along with a wide selection of both tap and bottle beers, wine and spirits. Food is available at AURA Sports Grill, but may not be taken into the concert hall. No alcohol may be consumed or taken outside of the building.
