Health, Safety & Event Updates

Portland Ovations brings people together to strengthen community well-being.

We are committed to your health and safety as our #1 priority, and we’ve been closely monitoring communications from the Maine CDC and World Health Organization to assess our upcoming events within the context of the COVID-19 crisis.

Today at noon, Governor Janet Mills recommended cancelling or postponing all events gathering more than 250 within the next 30 days; as have many of our colleagues throughout the Maine arts world.

In alignment with this and other guidance issued by the State CDC, Portland Ovations is cancelling all scheduled public presentations between now and April 13. Coincidentally, the Blue Man Group tour cancelled earlier today for technical reasons; and we are working on a possible special webcast of the New York Philharmonic String Quartet on April 5.

We want us all to be healthy and happy together—so please remember to wash your hands and follow the recommendations of the CDC. We will continue to post updated information on our website and social media platforms and you can also call 211 for a list of resources. We are so grateful that you are a supportive member of the Portland Ovations family and wish you all good things in these challenging times.

If you’re a ticketholder to any of these performances, you’ll be receiving a separate email with options for how to proceed. As your nonprofit home for the performing arts, we are reliant on these ticket sales and your donations to support our mission, our artists and the people here at Portland Ovations; and we hope you will find ways to continue to provide financial support for our work as we move forward together. We look forward to when we can again gather with you!
