About The Peaks Island Ukes:
Since the Peaks Island Ukes started playing together in 2013, they have performed professionally at dozens of weddings, clubs, private dinners and luncheons, garden parties, concerts and festivals, variety shows, holiday events, as singing telegrams, in parades, flash mobs, and at senior centers. Featured in both AARP and DownEast magazines, they have appeared on WCSH6’s “207” and morning programs, as well as on WGME/13’s “Good Day Maine” show. On YouTube, you can find two official Peaks Island Ukes original music videos, “Rolling Home” and “Molly & Emma” – and they have a third music video planned for the summer of 2018. The Peaks Island Ukes were previously featured by Portland Ovations at their 2013 Season Opening “POPS” event.
A rotating group of 30+ members strong, they include musical partners playing bass, percussion, harmonica, cello, banjo, and guitar – along with all those (soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone) ukuleles. Offering repertoire ranging from folk, rock, jazz, pop, oldies, originals, and even classical (with Bach, Beethoven, and Pachelbel on their playlist), they are sure to make YOU smile, tap your foot, and even sing along. Most importantly, they celebrate – and facilitate – having a good time!
