Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet : Offstage Activities

George Lopez, Artist in Residence at Bowdoin College, discusses the evening’s program as well as the history of the wind quintet from its early inception in 18th century Vienna to the rise of the genre through the works of Reicha and the rich modern works of recent decades by notable composers such as Villa-Lobos, Schoenberg, Barber, and Ligeti.
