We regret to inform you Behzod Abduraimov will not join us on Sunday, January 7 due to illness. He is visiting his family in Tashkent for the holidays and is not able to travel yet, let alone perform. We even have a note from his doctor … albeit in Uzbek!

However, we remain steadfast in our commitment to sharing with you the finest, rising-star pianists and are very pleased to let you know we have secured award-winning Czech musician Lukáš Vondráček for Sunday, January 7th, 3 pm at Merrill Auditorium.

“A pianist of immense gifts and unwavering intensity” (The Sydney Morning Herald), Mr. Vondráček is the winner of the coveted Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2016. This season has him appearing in engagements with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony, Oslo Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de Belgique, Netherlands Philharmonic and the Philharmonia Orchestra, to name a few.

Here is the link to his incredible Rachmaninov 3 that so triumphantly won him the Queen Elisabeth Competition. You can also read about him in these reviews from The Sydney Morning Herald and The Washington Post.

His Ovations program will be

BRAHMS Sonata No. 3, Op. 5

***

NOVAK Memories, Op. 6

SCHUMANN Carnaval, Op. 9

We very much hope you will join us for Mr. Vondracek, as well as the pre-performance lecture by Laura Kargul. If this change causes you any ticketing issues, please contact PortTIX at 207.842.0800 and they will assist you.
