ACME is a chamber ensemble with flexible instrumentation, dedicated to the outstanding performance of masterworks from the 20th and 21st centuries, and particularly to the work of American composers including luminaries such as Philip Glass and Morton Feldman, whose work will be featured in this special project. Lead by cellist Clarice Jensen and described as “vital,” “brilliant,” and “electrifying” by The New York Times, the ensemble includes some of today’s most sought after musicians, ranging from pianist Timo Andres to Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw. They have performed in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to Le Poisson Rouge to the National Gallery of Art, exemplifying their incredible musical range and eclectic appeal.
Join co-curators of the Drawing Now exhibit – Munira Naqui, Founder of The Drawing Collective and Bruce Brown, Curator Emeritus Center for Maine Contemporary Art and former Ovations board member – in a gallery tour of works by the thirty distinguished artists in this international exhibit, and learn about qualities shared by the concert and exhibit.
