The incomparable star of stage and screen, Liza Minnelli, will open Portland Ovations' 2010-11 season, performing at Merrill Auditorium in Portland on September 29th, 2010. Minnelli will appear for one night only with a sextet led by jazz piano great, Billy Stritch. The concert will feature Minnelli performing classic American standards as only she can. The show is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Liza Minnelli, the daughter of actress Judy Garland and movie director Vincente Minnelli, has been performing in the spotlight her entire adult life. She's won an Oscar, an Emmy, two Golden Globes, multiple Tony Awards and numerous other accolades for her work on stage, on camera and in the recording studio. Her enormous fan base is strong and growing. Her recent appearances in a Snickers commercial and on the hit TV show Arrested Development, have created a new generation of fans. She is also making a cameo in the upcoming film Sex and the City 2 due to hit theaters in May.

Minnelli will be the 2010-11 season opener for Portland Ovations.
