Merrill Auditorium, Portland, MaineAt the age of 24, violinist Stefan Jackiw is already recognized as one of the most significant artists of his generation,capturing audiences with his poetry and purity, combined with impeccable technique. Rising swiftly to acclaim since his 2002 U.S. debut with the Baltimore Symphony, violinist Jackiw has also performed with the Boston Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. He will be accompanied by pianist Max Levinson for this Portland Ovations recital of Brahms sonatas. The recital will consist of Johannes Brahms' Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Op. 78, Sonata No. 2 in A Major, Op. 100 and Sonata No. 3 in D Minor, Op. 108.
