Thile, well known for his time in the wildly popular band Nickel Creek, has changed the mandolin forever, first through his extraordinary evocations of its roots in bluegrass music and then by taking it to the pinnacle of jazz and classical performances. Thile’s prodigiously gifted bandmates are among the most in-demand performers in bluegrass, folk, and new acoustic music, including Chris Eldridge (guitar), Noam Pikelny (banjo), Gabe Witcher (fiddle), and Paul Kowert (bass).
