The Runaway Bunny
Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia
Saturday, March 20, 2010 11 am
South Portland Auditorium at SPHS, South Portland, MaineMaine family favorite Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia returns with two new puppet theater productions featuring cuddly rabbits – Good Night Moon and The Runaway Bunny, based on the classic and much-loved children’s books written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. In Goodnight Moon, a young bunny bids goodnight to everything around him, from his toys and telephone to paintings of fairy-tale characters on the wall. In The Runaway Bunny, a little rabbit imagines all the different ways he could leave home, while his mother reassures she’ll find him, no matter where he pretends to go. Mermaid Theatre brings its whimsical puppetry, dreamlike imagery, original music, and soothing “bunny banter” to these childhood classics.
Geared toward ages 2-7.
