Brooklyn Rider

Saturday, February 27, 2010    8 pm

Hannaford Hall, USM, Portland, Maine

The quartet Brooklyn Rider creates music that is intellectually stimulating and emotionally exhilarating. Illuminating chamber music in new ways, their superb musicianship shines through whether performing the works of the great masters or the music of our time. Born out of a desire to use the rich medium of the string quartet as a vehicle for borderless communication, the innovative Brooklyn Rider introduces new worlds, new sounds, unusual collaborations, and fresh, global insights into the string quartet literature. The recital will include works by Claude Debussy, Philip Glass, the quartet’s own Colin Jacobsen, and others.
