Hit the road with Portland Ovations for the ultimate “away game” when hometown hero Daniel Sonenberg’s The Summer King receives its fully-staged premiere at the esteemed Pittsburgh Opera. Featuring celebratory meals at Pittsburgh’s signature eateries, visits to the Steel City’s most famous cultural institutions, and our very own backstage-at-the-opera event, this Destination Pittsburgh weekend promises something for opera lovers, baseball fans and cultural omnivores alike. As the lead commissioner of The Summer King, Ovations is proud to share the evolution of this work as it hits the national stage. Multi-tier travel packages will be available, proceeds of which will benefit Portland Ovations.

…judging by the audience response ‘The Summer King’… could become an American classic.”
